Both Outpatient pharmacy and inpatient pharmacy are open 24 hours.
The inpatient pharmacy staff dispenses to hospital and surgical patients. It is also responsible for making sure the right medicine is available to physicians in various departments, whenever they might need it. This includes maintaining supplies in the Emergency & Trauma Services department, medical and surgical units.
The outpatient pharmacy fills prescriptions from any licensed physician in Guyana. Staff members welcome questions about medications and strive to provide professional, individualized service. A small selection of commonly used over-the-counter medications is also available in the outpatient pharmacy.
